The Dr's Magnetic Personality

At Tool Doc, our magnet system is engineered with intention. We use high-strength magnets that sit flush with the bottom of the organizer, not buried inside the plastic. That’s critical because magnetic holding force drops quickly as distance increases. The closer the magnet is to the steel drawer, the stronger the hold. By minimizing that gap, we maximize performance without adding unnecessary bulk.

Keep in mind, anything placed between the magnet and the drawer — especially thick or rubber liners — reduces holding power by creating extra distance. For best results, use thin foam liners. It’s simple physics: less space equals more hold — and that’s exactly how Tool Doc 911 designs it.
